Because of a fluoride spill in 2005 that contaminated the water supply in a neighboring county; regulators implemented requirements for all water utilities to update their emergency public notification systems.

In the unlikely event the Millersburg Area Authority experiences a similar incident; we plan to inform our customers as soon as necessary of any potential threat to the quality of water that we provide.

Flushing Disinfection Wipes and Pouring Grease Down the Drain

Flushing disinfection wipes or baby wipes (even those labeled flushable or biodegradable) or paper towels down the toilet can lead to sewer backups
and in-home plumbing issues.

These blockages can lead to sewage overflows or backups in homes and businesses. It can also have an adverse effect on the environment if the overflow enters local rivers, lakes and streams.
